Facebook users can now comment via stickers

Facebook users can now comment via stickers

The popular Facebook stickers can now be used to comment on the Facebook posts and photos via Facebook app.
Since the rollout of Facebook stickers in the Messenger app, users have become accustomed to communicate via them. And now these popular stickers are making their way to the comments section of your posts and photos.

This announcement came from Bob Baldwin, one of the engineers on the project, via a Facebook post. He wrote, "Stickers have been a delightful way to communicate in messages, and I'm happy to announce we're bringing them to comments across Facebook. It'll be available to all posts from people, in groups, and on events now."

These stickers are available currently only through the Facebook app and soon are expected to be on the web. Stickers in comments will rollout worldwide over the next day or so.

Facebook users can access these stickers by tapping on the smiley face icon on the right of the comment box. Tapping this would expand and show the default and purchased stickers of the user.

Baldwin revealed that stickers in the comments section started as a hackathon project in New York, where a prototype for the web version was built in a single night.

He wrote in the post, "When we turned it on for employees, they loved it. We later built it for mobile web at a hackathon in California, and the iOS & Android versions soon after."
