DELHI: Moto E, the smartphone that redefined the budget smartphone
market earlier this year by offering competitive features at a low
price, was recently relegated to the sidelines with the launch of models
like Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Google's Android One phones. However, the
Motorola smartphone has been given a price cut, thus positioning it
better against its chief rivals.
Flipkart, which is the exclusive retailer of Motorola products in India, has announced via a tweet that the price of Moto E smartphone has been reduced from Rs 6,999 to Rs 6,299.
Although the tweet mentioned that this offer is valid only for a limited period, the time period has not been revealed. Flipkart in its Big Billion Sale had reduced the price of Moto E to Rs 5,499.
At a price of Rs 6,299, Moto E is better positioned to compete with Xiaomi Redmi 1S and the recently launched Android One phones. These smartphones offered similar or better features at lower price till now.
Sporting a 4.3-inch (960x540p) display, the phone runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and will be upgraded to Android 5.0 (Lollipop). Powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Moto E comes with 1GB RAM and has 4GB of internal storage and can support microSD cards of up to 32GB.
