Blogger vs WordPress Features Face off

Today I am here with a very popular comparison, Blogger vs WordPress. As you all know Blogger is a freely available Blog hosting Platform provided by Google and WordPress is a self hosted Blogging Platform.
First Of all I like to say, both are amazing Blogging Platforms, but to build a perfect blog, you need to verify each feature of these platforms. So, you can select the perfect one to make success a little easier for you. So, let’s begin the comparison.

#1 Blog Creation

Both these Platforms have a different Blog creation process. As I already told Blogger is a free Blogging Platform so you can quickly Login with your Google account and create New blog within a few seconds with a Sub-Domain (xyz.blog spot.com). It also allows you to Add your custom domain Name later.
On the other side, WordPress needs Paid Hosting and paid Domain Name to get started. You can not create Free blog using WordPress software. After creating Hosting and Domain Name, you just need to install WordPress and your Blog will be ready.

#2 Post Publishing Powers (SEO)

Both Platforms have simple Post publishing dashboard, but when it comes to SEO powers, WordPress is way ahead with so many Plugins available to Optimize Each Blog post to perform well in search Engine. Although Blogger recently introduced many new features to improve SEO performance of their blogs, but still a long way to go for them.

#3 Themes, Widgets and Plugins

Blogger allows you to easily customize themes according to your needs and also there are many different types of 3rd party widgets available online for bloggers blogs making them very attractive. On the other side WordPress has a huge number of Free and paid themes available for users, but there customization can be little difficult, especially for a newbie. But when it comes to other features like Plugins, no one can beat WordPress as there are millions of Plugins available to make WordPress Super Hero.

#4 Storage, Admin section, flexibility

Blogger only allows you to upload images up to 1 GB space, but with WordPress, Storage space depends on the type of hosting you purchased.
Blogger Blogs can only have Admins or Authors but WordPress blogs are more flexible as they can have Subscribers, Authors Administrators, etc. So, it’s quite clear that WordPress is much more flexible than Blogger.

#5 Security

Blogger blogs are hosted on Google serves so there are very Minor chances of security vulnerability in Blogger, but WordPress blogs are hugely prone to hackers. If you are a WordPress user, then, you need to put some extra emphasis on Security.

Pros and Cons (Blogger vs WordPress)

Blogger Pros

  1. Free Platform
  2. Simple dashboard
  3. Secure
  4. Easy theme customization

WordPress Pros

  1. Your are the owner of your blog
  2. Very Flexible
  3. Many Plugins and Themes available
  4. Good for SEO

Blogger Cons

  1. Google is the first owner of your blog
  2. Not Flexible
  3. Manual SEO needed.

WordPress Cons

  1. Need Paid Domain and Hosting
  2. Newbies find it difficult to use
  3. Less Secure when compared to blogger

Final result

After Reviewing both platform feature by feature, I can easily say that WordPress is a best Platform if you wanna create a professional Blog, but if you are looking to create a blog for fun, then, you can use Blogger. Also, Newbies can start with Blogger and when they get some experience, they can migrate those blogs to WordPress.
